Ride for a Cure.. in memory of my baby girl

It will be our 51st day anniversary of your passing, sweet Liza, and we ride for you.

We will embark on a 50 mile bicycle ride here in Cleveland, Ohio with all donation dollars going to the Cleveland Clinic’s Quest for a Cure. The event is called Velosano, and this year’s event will be bittersweet without you here.

If you feel like supporting us, please visit my page at: https://give.ccf.org/calong

We miss you terribly, Liza. Our hearts are still broken without you here, but at peace knowing you’re running pain free.

With Love,

Andy

Until we meet over the Bridge, my Sweet Princess

With her cancer spreading rapidly in her leg, we made the heartbreaking decision to let Liza go across the Bridge. Her heart, head, and wiggly butt were there, but her leg was failing. F. you, cancer. You may have taken my sweet girls body, but you could never take her spirit and soul. She passed away peacefully in the grass, outside, bathing in the sun that brought her so much joy – surrounded by friends, family and her brother.  There are no words to truly express the pain and emptiness that encompasses our house now.

We are eternally grateful we got to share your life, and thank you for bringing so much joy and slobber to ours. We will miss you, sweet girl, and can’t wait to see you again.

All our love, Liza Jane.

2 Years, 1 month and it’s back

So our little princess started to limp again, this time on her back leg. A trip to the vet yesterday revealed what I had feared – her cancer has returned.

We are all absolutely devastated. Such a vibrant soul with an amazing spirit, lots of slobber, and a beautiful soul will be leaving us way too soon. With an estimated few weeks remaining, we’re going to make this an amazing end to such an amazing journey. The sofa will never be the same without her anchoring it, her brother will miss her immensely, and our hearts won’t be as full without her in it. Our memories will never fade, and our love for her will never fade. When the time comes to cross the Rainbow Bridge, it will be painful for us, but peaceful knowing that she is no longer in pain – and running free with her friends.

All my heart sweet Liza.

Thank you to all on this site for the love, support, and prayers as we went through the ups and downs of tri-pawd parenting – we appreciate all of you.

Update on Liza

Still can’t believe our journey continues! Such a sweet, loving girl who’s determination and continued wiggly-butt-itis is contagious to all come across (or are slobbered by) her! Keeping it real, loving her bones, her brothers, and resting outside on her deck – the life of a princess.

Stay strong and hop along – you’ve got more joy to share with the world, my sweet Liza Jane.

Love you to the moon and back,

Dad.

We Made it a Year!!!

So what a year it’s been. From first hearing the devastating news, to officially celebrating tomorrow, we have reached our 1 Year Ampiversary!!!! With a lot of love, an amazing team at OSU, and tremendous support from our family and friends – Liza Jane has hit a milestone! Screw you, osteosarcoma – Liza kicked your a$$. Her amazing attitude, temperament, and overabundance of slobber has made the time seemingly fly by. We appreciate her everyday, and can hardly believe our experiences over the past year.

Thank you, Liza Jane – for being the most amazing companion. Our journey continues, and we are blessed to have you a part of our lives.
